Stirring the Waters for Human Dignity
March 06, 2019
“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.” The wise words of the ever humble, greatly admired St. Teresa of Calcutta speak volumes about what is happening from the ministry of Ruah Woods Press in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.
A Theology of the Body “pebble” was cast in a corner of southwest Ohio over twelve years ago when Ruah Woods was established to provide teaching and healing through the lens of Theology of the Body (TOB).
The waves from this cast “TOB pebble” moved into a grand global education project, Ruah Woods Press’ newly completed ROOTED: K-12 Theology of the Body curriculum. Calls, emails and meetings with educators around the country keep churning still waters as people with restless hearts find out about this “new” way to present the Gospel to a seemingly desperate culture.
We cannot wait to see how this “ripple” casts graces in the Pacific Northwest. Maryland, Washington DC, Arizona, Pennsylvania, California, Louisiana, Kentucky, and New York will feel the wave of this “fresh” approach to teaching too…
During the first quarter of 2019 staff from Ruah Woods Press will have met, presented, introduced in over ten states! The Archdiocese of Seattle introduced the entire teaching staff from several schools to Theology of the Body and Ruah Woods Press. We cannot wait to see how this “ripple” casts graces in the Pacific Northwest. Maryland, Washington DC, Arizona, Pennsylvania, California, Louisiana, Kentucky, and New York will feel the wave of this “fresh” approach to teaching too as schools, parish programs and homes plan to bring TOB alive in 2019.
Taking students back to “the beginning” through ROOTED: K-12 Theology of the Body curriculum is an opportunity to introduce students to God’s original plan for man, before the fall. Students are taught in age appropriate lessons, what sets man apart from animals, man is created for work, and how every person is called to make gift of self. These foundational themes come alive through story, scripture, discussion, activities and journaling — a unique approach for each age-group embracing ROOTED curriculum.
Is your Diocese, school, parish or home ready to ride this wave of truth? This proclamation that God, through the birth, death and resurrection of his only son, has given us what we need to spend eternity with Him? Is your heart moved to reclaim the dignity of the human person with our young people?
We are READY to bring these teachings and ROOTED to you! We cannot wait to meet you and share in even more corners of the world God’s original plan for us, in this life and the next!
